Nothing can get more important than the auto insurance rates, when you think of buying auto insurance plans. And why not! As they are considered to influence how much you would end up paying. Thinking of auto insurance rate is thus considered to be the foremost thought people have.
One of the first thing people do is compare auto insurance rates. Doing so is not a tough activity at all, because all insurance companies have to furnish the auto insurance rates of their plans before hand. Declaring the auto insurance rate of an insurance plan thus gives the correct picture to people as far as their payments for the plan are considered.
You may have faced a situation where your friend could have got an auto insurance plan at A auto insurance rate, and you end up getting the same plan at a different auto insurance rate altogether. Dont be surprised because many underlying factors influence the pricing of an auto insurance plan. Remember, auto insurance rates hinge on how old you are, how good your driving history is and a lot of other factors.
So, what are the factors that influence insurance companies to present their auto insurance rates to people? For starters, your driving history will be taken into count before you get the auto insurance rate from the company. If your driving has been bad all this while, then chances are that you could end up paying a higher auto insurance rate.
Secondly, how old you are, and where you would be driving could also cause an impact on the auto insurance rates. If you are a senior citizen and would be driving on the rush hour roads of the city, the chances of you getting a low auto insurance rate is marginal. Quite surprisingly, you will find that women get insurance plans at a lower auto insurance rate. If you belong to the men folk, there are chances you may feel aggrieved, but you might just have to put up with this fact.
Fishing for auto insurance rates from insurance companies is not a tough ask. All you have to do is log in to the Internet, and within minutes, you will get quotes for auto insurance rates from auto insurance companies. The key though is for you to consider the factors mentioned above.

Not many people are aware that you can buy a vehicle for $339.95 simply by visiting a local government police auction.
Here’s how it works! At many government auctions if a vehicle isn’t purchased during the bidding session, then it will be put up for sale directly after the auction has ended at the set price of $300 (I’ll explain the other $39.95 later). The reason is simply because the government does not want to have to store any vehicles after the auction is over.
The first time I noticed this, I was going through some of the car listings on the site mentioned below (last paragraph) and then I noticed something peculiar. Many of the cars were indiscreetly labeled ‘If vehicle does not sell at this auction it can be purchased afterward for $300′.
I called a number of the government auctions and agencies directly, with the number that was listed on the site (see below for site). To my astonishment because of current depressed state of the economy, a good number of vehicles were not receiving a starting bid and were selling off for $300. In fact at many of the government auctions there were more vehicles available than buyers wishing to purchase them. This is due to this fact that most car dealership’s vehicle inventories are already too high. Even if they wanted to purchase, banks aren’t offering credit in most cases.
The remaining $39.95 I mentioned is for a Government Auctions membership which will provide detailed info on all local auctions and vehicles at each. Its well worth it though as it has all the hard to find all these details on one site, plus you’ll also find many items including car parts, foreclosed homes, furniture, electronics, jewelry, office equipment, etc. all for pennies on the dollar.
So once you have chosen the vehicle auctions in your area that you can attend, simply show up at them, check out the vehicles you like, bid on them if you choose, or better still wait until the auction’s over and buy any remaining vehicle(s) for $300 (auctions may have slightly different policies on this so call in advance).
You’ll be surprised at what you can get for $300. I know, I’ve purchased 3 cars this way including a older model Beemer in great condition.

Instead of going to a car dealership and buying vehicles the usual way, have you ever considered visiting a government or police auction? If you’re not aware, the police seize thousands of cars and other vehicles every month and often auction them off to the general public at extremely reduced prices.
Obviously, police auctions are a secret that car dealerships don’t want you to know about. This is because not only is there one less potential customer looking to purchase a vehicle but there is also another bidder competing against him for the cars that are being auctioned.
So why does 90% of the general public buy from car dealerships? Well that’s a good question and I think it comes down to education. People are simply not aware or these government and police vehicle auctions. The government would be ridiculed is they spent money on advertising. Here is a list of advantages and disadvantages in buying at these auctions:
Advantages:
- Business Methodology allows much lower prices.
- No matter where you live, there are typically many auctions held around your area
- Information regarding government and police auctions with vehicle listing detail is now available on the web
- There is usually a wide selection of vehicles that can be found at government auctions - sports cars, SUV’s, pick up trucks, motorcycles, jeeps, etc.
- No middleman for you to have to deal with or pay
- No commissioned salesperson to have to deal with
- Seller is motivated and doesn’t want to handle inventory, everything has to be sold!
- Better income tax advantages (run as a business)
- Car taxes are typically less
- Start your own business (i.e. Sell cars on the Internet)
Disadvantages:
- You’ll probably have to pay it all in cash (which for some is a blessing)
- No warranty (although used car dealerships warranties are for short time periods)
If it’s not a problem paying cash, or you can get credit elsewhere, then the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Just remember to bring a mechanic or car expert who understands vehicles with you to the auction. They will inspect the vehicles that you’re interested in to make sure you get a great deal.

I have written numerous documents on government auctions and police auctions in the past, but only as of late have I been providing specific samples of the deals that can be found at these auctions. You may of heard of rumors of the great values available at government auctions, however, seeing is believing, and since the government does not endorse the specific cars or items that are offered at the auctions, I am attempting to demonstrate some of the great deals you will find there. The police and government are overstocked with repossessed vehicles and therefore are eager to clear them out, and in turn this provides great opportunities to anyone who will make an effort to attend their auctions.
What if retail stores such as Best Buy or Walmart never bothered to publicize their great deals? Do you really think Walmart would even get near the business they get today if they’ve never advertised? A good portion of many retail stores attract their audience by advertising sales and discounts ahead of time. Police and Government auctions, however, still has a popular following even though the government never spends on advertising the specific items it will be selling. The government doesn’t have much of an advertising budget and yet they still manage to quickly sell their merchandise and that’s because they have best bargains period. There is a vast difference from the retailer who has to pay for marketing, the cost of the item itself and above that they need to make a good profit. The police and government don’t have any of these costs so obviously the savings is reflected in the items price.
Having said that my goal is to make interested people aware of the deals that are currently available from any of the numerous government auction agencies. For research I generally use my number one rated government vehicle auctions site as evaluated on my review site highlighted in the last paragraph. By the time you read this the items listed may of expired, however, it will provide you with an example of what kind of deals are available, so when you’re in the market for the same type of item you’ll know where to look and what price range to expect. For this article I have found a number of cars (and a pickup truck) among the tens of thousands that are available. These are just a randomly selected micro sample of some of the fantastic deals that are available:
* Mazda 2005 Protege DX 4D Sedan 14.2K miles $3,750
* 2005 X5 BMW with 15K miles - $4,140
* 2005 Ford 150 Pickup with 12K miles for - $5,710
* Ford 2004 Expedition XLT 4D 25.2K miles $3,180
* Toyota 2005 Corolla LE 12.2K miles $6,350
So as you see the people that are attend the auctions are getting deals much better expected. There is usually a large variety of makes and models available to choose from. So how can they be sold so cheaply and where do they come from? Cars can be repossessed for a variety of reasons including unpaid debt and/or taxes, criminal involvement, etc. Chances are your car dealership is buying at least a portion of their vehicle inventory at a government auctions, and making a good margin on that purchase so here is your chance to cut out the middle-man and pocket your savings.
It’s a good idea to go to a live auction rather than an online one because you’ll have more time and better opportunity to evaluate the vehicles. You will be able to see all of them up close before choosing which one(s) to bid on. You should also bring along a car expert with you, if you’re not one yourself just to to assured that the vehicle is in good condition before buying one. Try to find out both the history and quality of the car(s) you’re interested in. Remember, while government auctions are popular, the general public isn’t aware of them, and therefore there will be many choices for you do get that car that until now was out of your budget.
